Roxanne,

Allow me to say, in the most professional way possible, OMFG YESSSSS!

I am unbelievably excited that you accepted the offer. I have a feeling we are going to build something absolutely amazing.

First, the boring stuff. You will be receiving an email from Hilary at PrimePay, our HR partner firm. There will be a packet you need to fill out for your taxes, payroll, and benefits. You'll also get an email with some paperwork for a company-issued AMEX. Your official first day of work for payroll and benefits will be October 3rd. Brian from IT will also contact you when your laptop is imaged and ready. We provide you with a credit you can apply towards the mobile phone account of your choice. Brian will get your corporate email account set up on your phone.

One rather sensitive point: we have a strict "natural hair color" policy. Which means your pink hair will... ah, I'm sorry, I couldn't even finish writing that sentence. I'm totally kidding!

Your position, much like mine, will require meetings with vendors, suppliers, local creatives, and so on. I understand that a flexible schedule is sometimes required (understatement!). As a result, yours is a hybrid office/telecommute position. Work where you need to, when you need to. Progress and results are the key. The only ask is to attend the weekly staff meeting every Wednesday at 11:00AM. We have a rotating refreshment schedule. And much like Fight Club, if it's your first time here, you have to bring the snacks.

We provide free weekend badges to the corporate team to NYCC. I assume you're going anyway, so if you procrastinated this year in picking up a badge, we got you. The management team also travels down to Orlando in the Spring to go to the Spooky Empire convention. I also plan on going to StokerCon in May and San Diego for Comic-Con in July.

As far as the investment potential, if it were anyone else I would dismiss it out of hand. However, it's you. There is no need to put any skin in the game, but if you're excited to help me build something greater in a partnership of some kind, I'd be willing to go in with you. Let me sort out our current valuation so we can figure out percentages for buy-in.

Now for the good stuff: the ideas! I've changed the order, so that I can address it from short term to longer term.

Themed Events/Haunted Houses: Love it, and is definitely something I've wanted to do but haven't been able to really get into it. I loved the idea of an election event. I'm not sure about one night though. The Zonald and Zombillary would be great. Or maybe a post-apocalyptic, The Purge type scenario with crazy extreme views of both sides of the aisle. Is one day worth the expense, or would a week leading up to the election be better? We have a spy room at Shock Treatment. It wouldn't take too much to reskin it. Like a "Trump's America" type thing: you've broken into Cheeto Mussolini's campaign office to sabotage some crazy immigrant internment camp plan, and you get locked in. One hour before the security system fully arms and kills everyone inside. And ooh, serial killer Santa. Some crazy Krampus stuff. The Arkham (ha!) theme around Free Comic Book Day. The possibilities are endless. Theme events. Limited engagements. Yes. Good. Let's make it happen.

Business Partnerships: Definitely should do this. Both from a commercial standpoint, as well as with regards to charitable outreach. You're right, if we do end up doing the walking tour (see below), we're going to need those relationships in place. Especially if we start hurting another group's bottom line. We may need the good will. Side note: do you think IAC would go for something like this? That seems like a natural fit.

High Stakes Interaction: Love, love this. You're spot on about the legal aspects. Need to reach out to an attorney to discuss liability and our insurance, and how protect the company and name. But yes to this, for sure. Maybe tied to theme nights at first? Get a feel of what the appetite is for this experience. Maybe this is future growth, expanding to new location for just this.

Haunted Boston: I like the idea of it, but there's already a group doing one. http://www.hauntedboston.com/ I'm not opposed to stepping on their toes, but only if we're going to provide the superior product. We should only do it if we can do it better. Have you taken the tour recently? I haven't. If you haven't either, we should check it out.

Immersive Theatre Parties: I like it, but there's a lot of logistics involved. I think it would be best to bring on a dedicated event planner if we were to go with this idea. This is another complete spin-off if we do it right. I could probably bang out a script or three to kick around if we come up with a basic idea that's compelling and different enough.

We are so on the same wavelength, not that I expected anything less. Come in tomorrow of Friday. Meet the team. We'll have a meeting, talk through some ideas, and get the troops mobilized.

So damn excited. I hope you are, too!

Sincerely,
Jim
